Welcome to my corner of the therapeutic world. I'm Cassandra Shelton, but you can call me Cassie.
Known for my empathetic nature and ability to create a safe, welcoming space, I’ve dedicated my career to helping individuals navigate the complexities of their emotions, relationships, and life transitions.
My journey into counseling began after experiencing the transformative impact of therapy in my own life. That experience ignited a passion to walk alongside others as they seek clarity, healing, and growth. Over the past decade, I’ve worked in various human service roles, gaining experience and insight that now enrich my work as a counselor.
I hold a Bachelor of Applied Science in Organizational Leadership from A&M Commerce University and a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Capella University, completed in March of 2024. My academic and internship experiences have given me the privilege of working with diverse populations, each with unique stories and needs.
I specialize in supporting young adults and individuals facing challenges such as life transitions, identity exploration, emotional regulation, and the effects of past experiences. I am especially passionate about working with neurodivergent individuals and members of the LGBTQ+ community. My goal is to foster an inclusive, affirming environment where every client feels seen, respected, and empowered.
My therapeutic style is grounded in a person-centered approach—believing that you are the expert in your own life. I see myself as a guide and partner in your process, tailoring our work together to support your goals and help you gain insight, resilience, and emotional strength.
Outside of my counseling work, I’m a proud mother and someone who finds joy in life’s simple pleasures—spending time with family, listening to music, staying active, baking, cooking, and diving into audiobooks and podcasts that feed my curiosity and growth.
Whether you’re stepping into therapy for the first time or returning to continue your journey, I’m honored to offer a space where healing, understanding, and transformation are possible—always with compassion and authenticity.
