"You don’t have to control your thoughts. You just have to stop letting them control you." — Dan Millman

My journey into counseling began as a high school literature teacher and cheerleading coach. While I loved teaching, I found myself more fulfilled when listening to my students’ stories and helping them navigate challenges. Over time, I realized that my true calling lay not in teaching Shakespeare, but in providing support and guidance to those seeking a deeper understanding of themselves and their lives. This shift brought me to where I am today: a passionate counselor dedicated to helping clients find their own paths.

Although my approach is rooted in Adlerian principles, I’m continually expanding my knowledge and integrating various therapeutic techniques, both traditional and modern. I believe therapy should be client-centered, and my role is to genuinely hear you, understand your story, and help you explore strategies that resonate with you. I see each person as a unique individual with their own answers, and my goal is to help you discover what’s right for you. Therapy isn’t one-size-fits-all, and I encourage clients to provide feedback on what works for them—if something isn’t helpful, let’s find what is.

I’m especially passionate about working with clients through challenging life transitions, including postpartum experiences, relationships, communication, and decision-making. My first postpartum client found me, and through understanding and care, I discovered a new area of expertise and a deep appreciation for the positive ripple effects that come from supporting clients in such crucial times. These experiences have helped shape my empathetic and open-minded approach to a wide range of issues.

In our sessions, I aim to provide a comfortable, non-judgmental space where we can tackle even the “sticky” subjects. I’m not easily offended, and I believe in diving into life’s complexities. I want my clients to feel safe bringing their whole selves into therapy, knowing that I’m here to support them in exploring who they are and who they want to be. My philosophy is that the best decisions are the ones that align with the individual making them. I can offer guidance and highlight good practices, but ultimately, I believe that you know what’s best for your life.

Outside the therapy room, I love yoga, reading, and nurturing my collection of plants. Being a southern girl at heart, I’m also a big fan of college football! My aim in life is to be my most authentic, quirky, and silly self, while staying grounded in my love for learning and growth. When we work together, expect me to listen intently, ask thoughtful questions, and support you in a way that honors your unique journey. I’m excited to help you understand not just the “what” of therapy, but the “why” and “how,” because I believe that when clients grasp these aspects, they’re more likely to embrace meaningful change. Let’s work together to discover the path that feels right for you.
