"You did the best you could with what you knew. Now let me teach you better so that you can do better." – Maya Angelou
Jennifer Cuyle, LPC, brings both personal and professional experience to her practice at Peace by Piece Counseling. Like many, she has faced distressing life events that shaped her journey as a therapist. Through her own struggles, she discovered resilience, hope, and a passion for healing. Today, she is devoted to helping others find meaning and purpose in their own challenges, guiding them toward transformation and recovery.
Jennifer specializes in various areas, but her deepest passion lies in addiction recovery and trauma healing. She believes that therapy is a sacred space where individuals can share their deepest struggles, and she considers it an honor to walk alongside her clients through their healing journey. Her approach is person-centered, empathetic, and accepting, creating an environment where clients feel safe to grow into their best selves.
Jennifer has worked with individuals across the spectrum of change, from those feeling completely resistant to those highly motivated. She understands that change is both hard and scary, but she is committed to walking with her clients every step of the way. Her philosophy is rooted in empowerment—she helps clients recognize their own strength and ability to heal. One of her most memorable moments was sitting across from a young woman who had endured an abusive relationship and struggled with daily drinking. As the client began to heal and share her truth, she said, "You healed me. You saved me." Jennifer's response was simple yet profound: "No, I watched you save yourself."
Jennifer brings her authentic, nonjudgmental, and compassionate self to her practice. She meets clients wherever they are in their journey—whether they are ready to talk, scared to open up, or somewhere in between. With expertise in Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), she helps individuals challenge and modify unhelpful beliefs stemming from trauma, allowing them to create new, healthier perspectives on their past experiences.
Beyond her clinical work, Jennifer is a dedicated learner, staying up-to-date on the latest research, trends, and therapeutic approaches in addiction and trauma recovery. She is both directive and compassionate, understanding the importance of honest, straightforward conversations when addressing addiction while ensuring that every word is delivered with love and understanding.
Outside of the therapy room, Jennifer is an unapologetic Disney enthusiast and loves visiting Disney World with her husband and children. She firmly believes in Maya Angelou's wisdom: "You did the best you could with what you knew. Now let me teach you better so that you can do better." If you are tired of just surviving and are ready to truly live, Jennifer is here to walk that journey with you.
